My name is Maurizio Benvenuti, I am an Official Tour Guide (Italy Official Guide List) and I have been working in the amazing world of tourism since 2003, both as a tour manager all over Europe and as a tour guide.
I have always been deeply passionate about the history of the ‘Eternal City’ (as Rome is known), exploring its archaeological sites and visiting its splendid museums but also living the pros and cons of its everyday life and traditions.
I have followed University courses on Archaeology, Art History, Linguistics and obtained a BA in Foreign Languages in 2006.
My love for the sea and interest in ancient and modern navigation brought me to obtain the nautical license and to move with my wife and son to the Roman Coast, where my bond with the Ancient Roman Port of Ostia was born, the subject of continuous exploration. I love travelling, playing my classical guitar and spending time with my family.
I offer classic tours in Rome’s Historic Center as well as alternatives such as Ostia Antica, the Ancient Appian Way, the Urban Hike to the Janiculum Hill, Hidden Rome, the Jewish Area and Trastevere, Castel Sant’Angelo (check ‘Guided Tours’ page). All tours are focused on history, art, nature, local traditions and culture; they are informative and fun, adaptable for personal requests and are absolutely kid-friendly 🦅
