JEWISH GHETTO & TRASTEVERE

A walking tour in one of the most interesting neighbourhoods where the old jewish community of Rome still lives, defending the traces of his history.

We will start the story from Ancient Rome, reaching current times passing through the infamous years of the ghetto and discriminations established in 1555 until Italian Unification and the nazi occupation during 1943-44. The Jews have accompanied the history of Rome as nobody else and still bear the traditions of the city. Our walk will continue exploring the charming medieval neighborhood of Trastevere after crossing the Tiber Island where the twin babies Romulus and Remus were found

DURATION: 3 HOURS
